DC LOVES OUR LOCAL BUSINESSES
The pandemic is the biggest challenge we have faced as a city, yet we will come back from it better than before because we have stuck together. I call upon our entrepreneurs to take every opportunity to rise above this pandemic. The Paycheck Protection Program is one such opportunity, and it is critical as together we move from relief to recovery to growth.
- Mayor Muriel Bowser
Since the start of the pandemic, DC Government has provided over $150M in direct relief for DC small businesses. By comparison, DC businesses and organizations drew over $2 billion in Paycheck Protection Program forgivable loans in 2020. The impact of PPP for DC businesses and thereby employees is tremendous. That’s why we are so bullish on promoting PPP.
- John Falcicchio, Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development
